Composed by Luigi Denza (1846?1922) in 1880 as a promotional song celebrating the opening of the first funicular railway on Mount Vesuvius, east of Naples, Funiculi, Funicula has since become one of the world's best-known Neapolitan songs. This work is a brass band arrangement of Funiculi, Funicula Rhapsody, originally written for large wind band and based on the famous melody.
