"British Folk Song March", my debut work, was selected as one of the five test pieces for the 2003 All Japan Band Competition.
In order to make it flexible for publishing needs, I reviewed the harmony and counterpoint, which were not up to par with the techniques of the time, and re-edited keeping the same atmosphere.
As the title suggests, the piece is based on an English folk song. The three songs used are "Greensleeves," "There's No Place Like Home," and "Annie Laurie."
The melody is beautiful, so perform it with care, and at the same time bring out the lightness of the march.
I have indicated drum set for percussion, but if there are enough players, please use snare drum, bass drum, and cymbals.
