Printed set (Score & Parts)
I wrote this in September of 2004, as commissioned by the Soka Gloria Wind Orchestra. Since they are really fine players, I decided to make this piece very distinctive. Through the title, The Ruins in Limbo, you can extend your imagination to whatever you feel. I was not trying to express a certain thing with notes, only something sensual. Special sound effects are also used, and players are supposed to be particular about making the entire performance interesting. This is a challenging piece musically and technically, however, I hope many people get to know and enjoy it. Special thanks go to Noboru Ogino, principal trombonist of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, for his great help and advice.
