The Passage in the Dawn was commissioned by Soka Gloria Wind Orchestra's clarinet quartet. Long story short, it is a song that begins with a longing and develops with the anticipation of joy. I overlaid it on the changing view of dawn. I put those emotions into notes, so-called fragments. As there are many notes and musical expressions in the score, careful and emotional attention is needed to perform those sentiments expressively.
