Dreams of Tomorrow - Overture for Rebuilding
2013 All Japan Band Competition Required Piece C
Revised version was premiered by Tokyo Elements on September, 22, 2018

In commemoration of the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 2011), this was composed as a 2013 AJBC required piece by master Naohiro Iwai (age 89), known as the "Father of concert band pops" (this being his sixth AJBC awarding). Bands and music lovers enjoy the bright big-band sound.

Naohiro Iwai (1923-2014) composed and arranged thousands of works for band. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts (Horn major), he was active as a trumpeter and arranger for prestigious jazz bands since postwar occupation. He sought to arrange more than 3,000 works in his life. This was his last original piece.
