"Antiche Danze ed Arie per Liuto, Suite No. 3" was arranged by Ottorino Respighi for string ensemble based on lute songs of the 16th and 17th centuries. From this suite, two songs, "Italiana" and "Passacaglia", were arranged as a wind instrument and marimba octet for ensemble contest by suggestion of Susumu Ono, director of Chikushidai High School, Fukuoka. Initially, I assumed bass saxophone for the bass part and the 5-octave marimba, but in this revision, it is playable with the baritone saxophone and the 4-octave marimba.
As for other instrumentation, the following optional music sheets are provided:
1st A. Sax to Bb Clarinet
Bar. Sax to Bass Clarinet, St. Bass
