Canopus is a star rarely visible in the northern hemisphere. I imagined the journey trying to find this star. I think such a trip would be filled with great hope and anticipation for the future.

There are three main sections. The first depicts the start of the journey towards the bright light of Canopus. The middle section reflects the star's warm embracing light through the ordeal of the trip. The last section shows a triumphal character reaching out to the approaching Canopus.

Composed for CD by the Yumi Terada Percussion Ensemble. Premiered on May 2016 by Yumi Terada, Yoshihiro Tsuchiya, Takanori Akita, and Sayuri Higuchi.
