Commissioned by Tsuyoshi Hasegawa, a junior percussionist, and premiered at his recital.
He requested a marimba and Japanese drum solo. I chose the title "Blue Thunder" in his image of a sharp and youthful performance. I expressed terrifying and beautiful thunder running freely in the sky.
Marimba always leads the ensemble, but sometimes play freely. Use a Japanese drum with a low pitch like distant thunder.
