Allegro (2:35) Andante (1:15) Alla Hornpipe (1:10)
"Water Music" was written by Handel, a leading composer of the Baroque along with Bach, completed in 1717. It is gorgeous music using many horns and trumpets, and it was created for the boating of King George I of Great Britain. I feel the magnificent atmosphere that reverberates outdoors. This arrangement excerpted pieces from the H.F. Reitrich version and was revised to a suite of three pieces for ensemble competition. It premiered in 2012, Yashiro High School, Nagano Prefecture. The first: "Allegro" is the first half of the third song of suite No. 1. The second: "Andante" is the middle part of the third piece of suite No. 1. Much of this piece was omitted to connect to the third song. The third: "Alla Hornpipe" is the first half of the second piece of suite No. 2. Although flugelhorn is specified in the second, it is replaceable by trumpet. If you can switch trumpets between each piece, shorter breaks will be effective.
