"Metamorphoseon Modi XII" is one of the works commissioned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Boston Symphony Orchestra. It is a symphonic piece composed in 1930 during the later years of Respighi (1879-1936). As the title suggests, the variation has a long-lasting lyrical and splendid orchestration. Due to the overwhelming fame of the "Roman Trilogy", his other works receive less attention. However, this is a work to adorn the latter years of his life. This woodwind octet arrangement was commissioned by Asaka Daigo Junior High School (Sankichi Tozaki director), and they won a gold prize at a regional ensemble contest in 2009. I have added revisions for this publication.
