This piece was composed around March, 2009. It is intended to use only clarinets in the key of B flat, and is composed mainly in unison. Therefore, even though it is an octet, there are very few parts where the notes are divided in a complex way. The passages are written freely, without any specific description or form, and the classical-style rhythms (musical division) with modern sound rows and harmonies run freely in all directions. Clear articulation is key, and will be one of the major challenges for the clarinet, a single reed instrument.
