"Prelude" Scene 1 "The Toy Box" Scene 4 "Happily Ever After"
The original composition is a ballet for children, which is comprised of four scenes. Inspired by the artwork with the same title, Debussy first composed the piano music then later arranged it for orchestra, which was left un-orchestrated at the time of his death. It was later completed by his friend Andre Caplet. The original work is about 30 minutes in total. This arrangement is about 5 minutes long. I have extracted parts of "Prelude", Scene 1 "The Toy Box", and Scene 4 "Happily Ever After". Various motifs are used depicting many different settings and situations. Imagine characters such as dolls, clowns, and soldiers to reflect the scenes.
