This work is a brass octet (Trp.3, Hn, Trb.2, Euph, Tuba) composed for the recording of "The Moon Traveler / Brass Concept".
"Alejandro" is a Spanish name derived from "Aleksandros", and in the composer's creative imagination, it portrays a fictional young Alejandro who shares his name with the illustrious Alexander the Great (Alexander III, the ancient Macedonian king). This young Alejandro envisions a brilliant future, likening the glorious achievements of his namesake.
The piece consists of three sections with an introduction, and it is not difficult and playable by novices to advanced players. Once you get used to the fast-tempo groove and play with a sense of speed and good phrasing, the performance will be even more fascinating.
