Commissioned by La CAMARATA SONORA, based in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, Japan, and premiered in December 2014 at the Miyagi Prefectural Ensemble Contest. In the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, many lives were taken. However, due to the people's strong will for reconstruction, life in the region is moving forward. Children are filled with vital energy. I was asked to write music having this type of message. The title is from the nonfiction work "Road for the Next Life (Inochi wo tsunagu michi)" by Ren Inaizumi (publisher Shinchosha). There is a coastal road known as Route 45 that connects Aomori to Sendai. The earthquake destroyed the road; however, this story tells of the courageous reconstruction of this coastal line.
