Composed in February 2015 for Ms. Hinako Kato, tubist with the Brass Ensemble Rose, and premiered in December 2019. You know how, when in love, we find ourselves eagerly doing things we wouldn't normally consider, often pushing ourselves beyond our usual limits? The tuba, a sizable instrument known for its rich, deep tones, typically plays the bass line, anchoring the sound of concert bands and orchestras. However, in this composition, the tuba ventures quite higher notes than usual, taking on intricate passages. To an onlooker, it might seem unnecessary to go to such lengths. But just like a tuba player smitten with love, it energetically dashes about for the sake of a beloved, growing and evolving in the process.
