This is my first piece for a brass quartet, inspired by the glorious sound that comes from brass. The parts are purposely assigned, and I hope that 1st trumpet will play a central role in creating the overall feeling. As the title suggests, the music has a light feel of allegro, and motifs based on dotted rhythms are developed. Briefly put, this is music with a sense of speed that should make you jump. The content expresses a single, uninterrupted flow that does not slow between sections.
