Composed in the fall of 2017 as a commission by flute Ensemble Fiore following "Fioritura"," "Coloratura," "Stazione di Roma Termini,"and "Cocktail Paradise!" The group requested a Japanese work, though it is not perfectly "Japanese" but a mixture of Japanese and Western styles. This is because there are not many opportunities to feel perfectly "Japanese" in modern Japan. Except for certain spots, it is very rare to feel that. For that reason, this music expresses "Japan today," which is increasingly influenced by foreign ideas year after year. What does "Japanese" mean to you?
