Commissioned by Atsubetsu Minami Junior High School.

The piece was written to be not too difficult but still challenging, as a great study for various musical expressions.

The title, Prayer of the Earth came from our wish to make music as we are all suffering from the pandemic of 2020. The commissioning group is from Hokkaido, and that spectacular land is a great region to send prayers from hoping for people's happiness.

The main theme of the piece is altered throughout, organized as slow-fast-slow-fast.
