This march was commissioned in February 2002 for the Minoh Youth Wind Band's 10th anniversary. Their motto"To make lifetime friends through wind music" serves more than 100 members from ages 16 to 30 at high school, university and adult levels. The band gives more 20 annual performances, including contests, regular concerts, joint concerts with high schools and other events and festivals.
The Youth Band, which always opens their concerts with my marches, was eagerly seeking a new march for their 10th anniversary, for which I was commissioned. In order to meet their expectations, I temporally stopped writing "Rainbow Breeze March", later selected as a 2003 All Japan Band Association test piece, to complete this march.
I tried for a strong and lively sound suitable for this youthful band. I'm pleased if you feel the freshness of a blast of wind.
The march was named by a Minoh band member. I like the idea of an atypical march title. I hope you agree with that.
