Composed for Morioka Shirayuri Gakuen Junior/Senior High School Band for our long affiliation and friendship.
The school name "Shirayuri" means "white lily". In the Christian faith, the white lily symbolizes the innocence and purity associated with the virtue of the Virgin Mary. The dazzling white color from a single lily is enough to display its overwhelmingly beautiful dignity. Yet, rather than remain aloof and separate from one another, lilies gather together, in solidarity and support as each flower blossoms. At times, the raging wind challenges their might and tries to shatter their will. Yet, the lilies continue to nobly flourish and continue to display their full glory amongst verdant hills.
By no means does this work have a complex elements. Therefore, perform this piece clearly from the bottom of your heart.
A heartfelt thanks goes to Morioka Shirayuri Gakuen Junior/Senior High School Band for the composition opportunity. Also, I offer my appreciation to Oume Dairoku Junior High School Band for helping to expand the piece's instrumentation.
