Commissioned by Vive! Saxophone Quartet in 2012. The title "Arioso e Toccata" shares the compositional notion of "a work that includes both expressive approach and technical passages", rather than just two movements: "Arioso" and "Toccata". It will be great to clearly contrast the expressive lyrical section with the rhythmic part. In Allegro vivace, each player should take a proactive approach.
