Commissioned work for Brain Music - composed in May 2023 to express support for small school bands and general fans of wind orchestra.
Meteora is a monastery in northwestern Greece that appears to "float" in the air, just as its name implies.
The group of strangely shaped rocks of 20 to 600 meters, and the 24 monasteries built on top of them, are registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Mixed Cultural and Natural Heritage). Six of these monasteries are still active today, and the monks pray to get as close as possible to the god in heaven.
This work depicts the monks' rigorous training and their spirit along with beautiful and spectacular scenery, so please look at the photos and research the historical background to get a better idea. I am looking forward to hearing your unique performance.
