This piece was composed in 1947 by Toshiro Mayuzumi, one of Japan's most prominent postwar composers, while he was still attending the Tokyo Academy of Music (now Tokyo University of the Arts). It has two movements, the first is in the style of boogie-woogie, while the second features a rumba style. Originally a piano composition, it was arranged for wind band in 1998 by Jun Nagao.
