Franz Lehar (1870-1948) is a great 19th-century composer who developed a new type of operetta (comic opera), many of which are still being performed. After his early masterpiece, "Merry Widow" (1905), he produced creative operas using dance rhythms and folk music popular at the time. "Der Zarewitsch" in 1927 is a piece with tango and other styles. Instead of the "happy ending" of his early works, it is a "tragic" work
ending with the separation of the Prince and his love.
This selection includes "Fanfare", "Hab Nur Dich Allein", "Champagne ist ein Feurwein", "Einer Wird Kommen(aria)" and "Tanz" "Heute Abend komm ich zu dir".
Original themes have been translated freely, being arranged as instrumental music.
